Camshaft sensor (position sensor)
The 2 camshaft sensors are located on the left and right of the cylinder head and tell the engine electronics where the respective camshaft (intake/exhaust) is currently located and how fast it is rotating. Not to be confused with the 2
camshaft actuators ("solenoid valves" in the picture), which the camshaft drive uses to adjust the position of the camshaft depending on the engine speed in order to increase power.
At Opel, 1 (of 2) camshaft sensor (4803133) costs 130 euros, but we have the genuie GM spare part (new, takeoff from new engine) at a reasonable price.
Please note, that there are 2 identical camshaft sensors on your engine!
