Camshaft sensor (position sensor)
The 2 camshaft sensors are located on the left and right of the cylinder head and tell the engine electronics where the respective camshaft (intake/exhaust) is currently located and how fast it is rotating. Not to be confused with the 2
camshaft actuators ("solenoid valves" in the picture), which the camshaft drive uses to adjust the position of the camshaft depending on the engine speed in order to increase power.
At Opel, 1 (of 2) camshaft sensor (4803133) costs 120 euros and more, but we have the spare part from the US supplier Delphi at a reasonable price, so that even the individual import from the USA is not worthwhile.
