Sprocket for water pump/balancer shaft, genuine GM
The water pump and the two balancer shafts are driven by gears.
The crankshaft is fitted with a special gearwheel with a shock absorber, which is NOT included in any aftermarket timing chain kit. The crankshaft sprocket in cheap accessory kits CANNOT be used in the GT engine.
The sprocket is no longer available from Opel or GM and also no longer available in the USA. If you ever plan to replace the secondary timing chain with your own aftermarket material, this original spare part is a must.
