Hub with Bearing and ABS Sensor, aftermarket
Wheel bearings can become extremely hot due to overheating of the weakly dimensioned standard brake on the race track or when driving down mountain passes and the heat transfer to the hub and bearing, lose grease and thus wear out. Broken wheel bearings can be reliably diagnosed when the vehicle is jacked up and the wheel is removed. If you feel a grinding or crunching when turning the wheel hub by hand, the wheel bearing is defective.
The wheel bearings cannot be replaced separately on the Opel GT Roadster. In case of a defect (grinding noises when cornering or aknackknackknack sound), the complete wheel hub with ABS sensor and wheel bearing must always be replaced. This work is however similarly simple, as the change of a brake disk and can be accomplished without stage / pit.
