Outer front tie rod end, LH/FH, font/back
On many Opel GT Roadsters you will find worn outer tie rod ends during general inspections, espacially at the steering tie rods. This is simply due to the age of the vehicles and a hard suspension and sportive driving.
A worn tie rod end can be heard when driving over bumps or potholes and ultimately affects steering precision, driving safety, and tire wear.
The tie rod end can be visually inspected on the pit with a crowbar or, better still, with the car jacked up at the front by wiggling the wheel back and forth. A second person can check whether the tie rod end has any visible or noticeable play. Same like ACDelco 88967177 tie rods , but instead of 140 Euro per rod, here as a bargain.
The tie rod end can be replaced quickly, but requires a wheel alignment and, if necessary, a new toe setting if the adjustment dimension changes as a result of the replacement.
